January 2010 – December 2012
Manchester City Galleries is committed to making loans available to support the work of our colleagues in the museums profession around the world to create important exhibitions which bring works from our collections to new audiences.
During 2010 to 2012 the Galleries are very heavily committed to an extensive programme of loans out. As a result we have to carefully consider our capacity to administer any further requests. However, loan requests are considered on a case-by-case basis and we are still committed to giving such requests every consideration and will offer our support if we possibly can.
The borrowing institution
We welcome requests from public museums and galleries. However, prioritisation will be given to those venues with which we have, or seek to have, a working partnership, or where there is an opportunity for reciprocal loans.
Requests from private individuals or ‘For Profit’ organisations will not normally be considered, unless this is through the Corporate Members Loan Scheme.
Borrowers will be assessed against their ability to provide the required collection care and security conditions, and to comply with ethical, professional and legal requirements.
