Using wire-frame skeletons to create characters, students develop visual communication techniques, capturing and representing the human figure.

Residency

One day with one class, three days with two classes.

The three day residency incorporates a visit to the gallery to explore our collection and gain inspiration.

What people are saying

"I’ve gained confidence in drawing to fill the paper and in drawing from life. I’ve learnt that even though a drawing is placed on top of another, sometimes it can make the overall picture look better."

Year 10 student, Levenshulme High School.

"Working with Jim allowed a ‘Live insight’ to the real life experiences of an artist. What it’s like to be asked to create work for the gallery and how you approach a customer brief. Students expressed surprise at how ‘Normal’ artists are!"

Teacher, Newall Green High School

Costs

Artist fee: £175 per day
