Groups can book workshops and tours led by a gallery educator, arrange a self-guided visit using our online resources or organise their own activities with supervision. All workshops need to be booked in advance.
To make a booking or for further information please contact us.
Please note that all of our gallery workshops will only run until 31st March 2012 but we are able to offer our Artists in Schools until Fri 20th July 2012. All self-guided groups must book in advance and sign in at the information point. The group leader is responsible for the behaviour and well-being of their group at all times.
For large self-guided groups, staff and students can be divided into small groups to explore the gallery.
Accompanying adults should be given guidelines of their supervisory role and the importance of staying with the pupils.
You can download our free self-guided materials, which can be found under each key stage.
If you would like to take photographs, passes can be obtained at the information desk in the atrium.
The coach drop off point for schools is on Princess Street between Mosley Street and George Street.
You may then use the side entrance on Princess Street with the glass doors.
If for any reason this entrance is not available, then please walk around the corner to use the main entrance on Mosley Street.

We advise that all teachers conduct a preliminary visit before attending the gallery with their pupils. If you phone in advance a member of the learning team may be able to meet you and help you with your planning.
All taught sessions have information about the key aims and activities available. Use these to assist your planning, including the development of teaching activities for pre and post visit learning.
Please ensure that all accompanying adults on your visit are aware of their role on the visit and are prepared to engage in the learning and support the pupils.
